What a Day!

Today I'm real Pissed Off by someone at work.

I've met an idiotic, despicable, unreasonable, shameless person! AHHHH!

She shed crocodile tears.......... Still got the nerves to tell others her tears was wasted!

Couldn't get what she wanted then put words in my mouth.
Full of gabbage & nonsense!

Third Fieldtrip ~ National Museum

The K2 children went to The National Museum for a Workshop - Out of the Box, Puppets and Legends Series – Journey to West.

Other than story-telling, puppet play and characterisation, the children also get to experience their motor & creative skills through physical handling and making of the puppets.

At the end of the workshop, the children went for a tour at two of the "Singapore Living Galleries".

~ Film & Wayang Gallery - Gloves puppets ~

The "Food" Gallery

I have not been to the Museum for many years. Although the building outside looks the same, albeit the renovations and refurbishments done, the interior of the museum is totally brand new and very much different from the National Museum I have been to many years back.

The old musuem was eerie, dark and museum like. The new looks refreshing and more like an art gallery.

As we do not have enough time to view the other galleries, I shall visit the National Museum again.

Dragon Fruits

Have been eating lots of dragon fruits lately and have found some info regarding this fruit......

This delectable and nutritious dragonfruit cactus fruit is the fruit of the vinelike dragonfruit cactus plant.

The flowers of the dragon fruit plant only bloom at night and usually only live for one night. Polination happens at this time to allow the fruit to emerge.

Dragon Fruit, What so good about it?

Wow... We got a super fruit!!! :)

And Finally A Legend......

This exotic looking fruit is crying out to having a legend so here it goes.....

Thousands of years ago fire breathing dragons created the dragon fruit.

During battle, when the dragons breathed fire, the last thing to come out would be the fruit. If the dragon was slain, the fruit would be collected and presented to the Emperor as an indication of victory and as such was a prized treasure.

Whilst the slain dragon would have been eaten by the victorious soldiers ... it being believed that if you ate the flesh of the dragon you became empowered with the dragon’s strength and ferocity.

In fact, it is said that the meat from the base of the dragon’s tail from where it was believed the dragons fire originated, was the sweetest and best tasting. It is said that the thirst for these meat is what brought about the destruction of all dragons.....

or so the legend goes.....

Fieldtrip ~ UnderWater World @ Sentosa

Went to the UnderWater World @ Sentosa with the Kindergarten One children. Had done lots of footwork like purchasing approx. 150 admission tickets to Sentosa & UnderWater World, arranging meals for the children & other co-ordination work etc etc etc.....

An applause for myself...... I've managed it pretty well. Hahaha!
No major hiccups..... except that there wasn't enough drinks for some children. Later, I was told that some adults apparently just drank the children's drink without asking!!!!!!!! Shame on them...... :(

Pasir Ris Kids Kampong

It was a sunny day. We left the school at about 8.45am for Pasir Ris Kid's Kampong.

Upon arrival, the children had a briefing session by the programme co-ordinator.

Then it's 'longkang' fishing time. Each child is given a bucket and a net to catch fish from the 'longkang' pond. The fishes can be brought home in oxygen-packed.

The children had a brief encounter with some pet animals like the white mouse, gerbil & hamster. The trainer shared with the children the features & characteristics of these animals. He also taught them how to hold the pets.

After that, the children get to feed the koi fish, ducks, goose, terrapins & rabbits.

The children had some snacks (cream buns) before heading back to school. It has been a wonderful & enjoyable outing ;)

I fell down :(

I fell down today outside the office! :(
Luckily nobody witness it except one new staff in the office.

The stupid office door is so heavy that it spring back while I tried to hold on to it. I fell onto my front and have bruises on my shin and the left side of my cheekbone. Ouch! T.T

At the meantime, the telephone rang. Instead of helping me up, the new staff went to pick up the phone......... and she said to me, "Errrr.....Carol, your phone!"

For goodness sake, didn't she see me in pain......Grrrrr!
I was at the verge of scolding the 4 letter word....... o.O

Bruises

What Can I Do to Help Myself Feel Better?

When you get a bruise, you can use stuff you find right in your freezer to help the bruise go away faster. Applying cold when you first get a bruise helps reduce its size by slowing down the blood that's flowing to the area, which decreases the amount of blood that ends up leaking into the tissues. It also keeps the inflammation and swelling down. All you have to do is apply cold to the bruise for half an hour to an hour at a time for a day or two after the bruise appears.

Another way to help heal your bruise is to elevate the bruised area above the level of your heart. In other words, if the bruise is on your shin, lie down on a couch or bed and prop up your leg. This will slow the flow of the red blood cells to the bruise because more of the blood in your leg will flow back toward the rest of your body instead of leaking out into the tissues of your leg. If you keep standing, more blood will flow to your bruised shin and the bruise will grow faster.

Busy Busy Busy

I've been pretty busy lately. I have to organise fieldtrips for all the children in the school. Gosh! This is my first time organising trips for so many children. HELP!

The Pre-Nursery & Nursery children (90 chn exclude adults) are going to the Pasir Ris Kids Kampong;
The K1 children (95 chn exclude adults) are going to UnderWater World at Sentosa and
The K2 children (75 chn) are going to the National Museum......

I'm not a very organised person. Most of the outings for my 2 children were usually done by my husband. I dont have to bother about it and by the way, I am a 'road blind'. Hahaha, hope I won't bring them somewhere and got lost....

Well for these fieldtrips, I have to liaise with the person in-charge of these places; prepare letters & consent forms for the children; confirm & reconfirm destinations; order food, beverages & snacks; budgeting; transportation etc etc etc etc........... Gosh it's endless! I'm so tired already :(

Check-Up @ KK Hospital

I woke up early this morning to go for my gynaecological screening at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. I will have my pap smear screening (checks for cancer of the cervix) and removing & inserting of a new IUD.

When I reached the hospital, the nurse first had my weight taken.......... Gosh! The weighing machine needle has moved up again...... o.O then she measured my blood pressure and had my urine tested.

When I went into the consultation room, I realised I've forgotten to asked for a female doctor. Anyway, it's too late liao.....

The doctor first asked me to lie down. A small instrument called a speculum is inserted into the vagina to get a clear view of the cervix (neck of the womb).

The nurse told me I will only experience a slight discomfort but it's not true lor! It's painful..... Ouch Ouch Ouch!

He then used a small brush to collect some cells from my cervix and smear them onto a glass slide. The cell sample will then be sent to the laboratory for tests.

Is there anything I can do to avoid getting cervical cancer?

Well after checking the internet, these are what I've found -
You may be able to reduce your risk of cervical cancer if you:

Dinner @ Swensens

At about 5.15pm, everybody starts to pack up and get ready to go for dinner. It is a long over due dinner given by the school for our hardwork & a successful Funfair held in May.

Before leaving the school, I went to the toilet & guess what I saw on the floor right infront of the door?
Eeeeeek! a sanitary pad bloated with water!
People are so inconsiderate & disgusting.... :(
The aunty who was washing the floor said somebody just left it on the WC.
She didn't pick it up and throw it in the bin but instead swept it on the floor together with the water???????!!!!!!!!!!!
Grosssssssss....... =.="

Okay, enough of that.......
For dinner we went to Swensens Restaurant.
I have a great time and all diet plans have to be put on hold tonight. Hahaha!

I've ordered grilled salmon. Hmmm.... still trying to stay healthy! ;)
then Cassandra said, "hi, the soup is very nice you know!"
so...........

I ordered the creamy clam chowder soup served in a sourdough breadbowl.........

& then she said, "we order ice-cream then share lar!"

so we ordered the Swensen's Earthquake ice-cream! Hahaha

Luckily we had 4 ppl to share with....... =.="

And the salad looks so deliciousssss too!

Last but not least, some pics before eating......
