Ladies' Night Out
I've had a night out with my girlfriends. We made reservation a week ago at "Straits Kitchen" but later changed our mind for another restaurant as they gave us lousy seatings and we couldn't change it for the restaurant was already fully packed with people.
Last minute, we made our way to Vienna International Seafood & Teppanyaki Restaurant at United Square. The restaurant was also very crowded but at least we had a decent place, away from smoke and people moving beside us.
Vienna International Seafood & Teppanyaki Restaurant serves local favourites & authentic soups, Japanese and Western cuisine, Teppanyaki and also the mouthwatering appetizers and desserts. I'm spoilt for choices and had a great meal.

It has been a good night out catching up with one another, with extensive discussions on our children, work & memories.
We completed the night with a nice cup of tea/coffee at "Starbucks".

Subway Sandwich for You?

We have Subway Sandwiches for dinner tonight.

It's one of my favourite sandwich,
Though it does not looked like it has only 6 grams of fat! 8-)

At Subway's website, I found these charts that compare subway sandwiches with other food. Interesting!

They also have other nuitritional information and a write-up of "All About Jared" who has lost weight eating subway sandwiches.

My favourite cookies! :P

Who's hand is that?

Not again........

No Pork, No Pork!
Something very funny happened at work.....
A colleague unintentionally brought ham for the children's cookery lesson.
I prompted her that we were not supposed to bring pork to school, she replied,
"Ok, next time I'll remember to buy
Halal pork!" :-s
This reminded me of a video clip I saw, titled
"No Pork, No Pork!"
I'm not sure if the video was merely an advertisement for the prata shop or was it a real prank played by the 2 boys. Nevertheless we should be wary & considerate about these issues cause we are living in a multi-cultural society.

To the Movie ~ The Mummy 3
We went to E!hub @ Downtown East to catch a movie after dinner & I've finally managed to take pictures of the building in different colours.....

We watched the movie "The Mummy 3 ~ Tomb of the Dragon Emperor".
It's an adventure filled movie with great effects. I loved the first two movies & Brendan Fraser but do not expect much from this :( though there are some laughs & fun! The appearance of the Yetis and the Mummy transforming to a three-headed monster have kinda made the show looked silly!
BTW, do you consider it a Mummy when it's not mummified?!!!!! :S
Anyway after the movie, it has nevertheless aroused my daughter's interest in Chinese history........... at least the story of Qin Shi Huang.

Qin Shi Huang ~ The First Emperor

Emperor Qin Shi Huang (Chinese:
秦始皇) was the first emperor of a unified China from 221 BC to 210 BC. Although he only ruled for
37 years, his list of achievements is phenomenal and he was clearly a very determined man. As the ruler of the Great Qin (Qin Dynasty), he was known/responsible for:
- Unification of China and implementing a centralised form of control.
- One of China's greatest tragedies, the saga know as The Burning of the Books.

- having scholars buried, in an attempt to rewrite history.
- initiating possibly China's greatest architectural feat, the Great Wall by joining together two smaller walls belonging to previous states and proclaimed that the wall should be extended to cover the entire border.

- obsession with the search for immortality.

- introduction of a universal system of currency as well as standard weights and measures.
- his real masterpiece, the incredible Terracotta Soldiers near his tomb in Xian. The ultimate, underground model village, where a model of China was laid out complete with rivers and oceans and overlooked by the Heavens in perfect scale and complete harmony. According to historical records, the mausoleum was a notorious crime scene. Many laborers died of hardship during its construction, and all the workmen were entombed along with the emperor in order to keep their mouths shut.

Qin Shi Huang was buried in his mausoleum, with the famous Terracotta Army, near modern day Xi'an (Shaanxi province).
Upon ascending the throne at the age of 13 (in 246 BC), had work begun on his mausoleum, which took 11 years to complete. The terracotta soliders form part of the mausoleum (along with many other treasures which accompanied the Emperor in the after-life).
The masusoleum itself has not been opened yet.
For 2000 years, a secret army of clay soldiers protected the hidden tomb of China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Until 1974 none knew of its existence; now Chinese archaeologists are gradually unfolding the mystery.

Trishh's Bday ~ Camping
We celebrated Trishh’s Birthday camping at East Coast Park over the weekend. She has invited a few of her friends to join us for the barbecue.
My first experience of camping with the children was when they were in Preschool. ^.^

One thing that was very different is, way back then we had to pitch the tents for them but now, they could do it by themselves ~ with a little of daddy's supervision!
There were so many people already camping when we arrived at East Coast. The campers pitched the tents practically everywhere......... I mean really everywhere, like under the bridge! Anyway, we were lucky we could managed to find a good spot away from the crowd....... so we thought!
It was hot & sunny at about 2pm in the afternoon. Both daddy & son quickly pitched the tents while the birthday girl met up with her friends.......
As for the mummy, she was busy taking pictures lah! If not you all will not have pictures to see in this blog lor........ still want to complain that I didnt help! :p

At about 5pm, the weather has changed from good to bad then worst! It was pouring heavily...... My poor daughter & her friends were all drenched. At first they hid themselves in the tent but decided to play in the rain since the tent could not hold them in for long because of the strong wind. Nevertheless, they enjoyed themselves very much getting wet in the rain!

As for the rest of us, we were back at home preparing for the BBQ stuff. When we arrived at the park, we waited in the car for the rain to stop........These were some of the pictures taken in the car as I was feeling bored & wanted to tease the boys! Hmmm........ only my good husband posed for me!

The boys....... "没脸见人"

These were pictures taken before the rain stopped.

The beauties with umbrella..... :P

The Mr Handsome........ 8-)

we also managed to take some pics of the helicopter with the Singapore flag by- passing the East Coast beach after the rain stopped.
"Happy 43rd Birthday Singapore!"

Then you see daddy preparing for the BBQ dinner.

The place was not lited up properly as a few of the park lamps were not switched on....Grargh!!! So some DIY work were done on our own! Lia & Daddy became the handymen.

Some Yummy BBQ food...........

Trishh's friends.........

Trishh had a solo pic with her birthday cake!
Happy Birthday Trishh!
How old is she? Aiyah, still young.......... twelve only!

pic with family.......

and friends! (some has already gone home because of the rain! :( )

Pic of Ee Nellie, popo, E-po with her son and grand-daughter.

At about 11pm, most of the guest has gone home except the 7 of us (my family of 4, nephew - Darien, Trishh's friend - Sarah, sis's maid - Lynn).
We spent good quality time chatting and catching up with one another till the wee hours....... & then we went for a stroll at the Bedok Jetty watching people fishing in the middle of the night.

At about 3am, just as we were all getting a little sleepy, I saw a girl sitting near a stone chair outside my tent with her hair covering her face staring at the sea!!!!!!!!!! (It's the Chinese 7th month you know!). Well, after some commotions & scaring the scardy mummy, I realised it was Sarah, who has gone to sleep earlier & has woken up! =.="
As I was dozing off (god knows what time already), I heard the children giggling and laughing. Guess what........ they were teasing a couple smooching away on a chair, just a distant from their tent. The children used the torchlight to shine at them and intentionally walked near them and then played around them! But the couple continued with their smooching and ignored the children.....tsk, tsk, tsk! I guess after a while, the couple gave up on them, and disappeared back into their tent.
The children were still full of energy till early morning at about 6am. They waited for the sunrise but realised that they could not see it from this part of the island..........

And then they finally dozed off. Phew!

But this piggy slept earlier than the other 3 children. However, he is no angel at all. Look what he was trying to do to his sister?!!!!

The children woke up at about 9am........ -o-
We cooked maggie mee and had muffins for breakfast :)

We wanted to stay a little longer to laze around but the weather did not agree with us.........So we quickly packed up & head for home before the next raindropp falls!
