Christmas Eve Celebration 08
This year we had our Christmas eve celebration at Richard's place. We potluck the food but ordered a turkey & log cake from Swensen. It took me almost the whole afternnon preparing the potato salad and shepherd pie. Amateur cook....Haiz! We prepared lots of food like the cream and tomato base pasta, green salad, fruit salad, agar agar, ham, bread etc.....We had a sumptuous dinner and ate almost all the food laid on the table. =.="
Given a head count, there were altogether about 19 people from 5 families at this super longgggg table.

After dinner, we watched photos on a projector of all the Christmases we had celebrated since our school days. I've done a montage on myself, Alan and the children's growing years. Good entertainment???!!! Feeling nostalgia! Well, hope everyone enjoyed it.

At Tea Chapter
Tea Chapter is located at 9A/11 Neil Rd. An authentic place that serves a wide variety of tea, from white tea, red tea, black tea, green tea, floral tea etc.

It is a nice place to hang out with friends here. We took 2 types of teas. One green tea, 'Bi Luo Chun' which cost about $30 per 50g & one oolong tea, 'Thousand Miles of Fragrance' which cost about $60 per 40g (minimum spending is $6 per pax). We also ordered some tea snacks to munch on.
When the waitress brought us the tea, she explained and demonstrated how to brew the tea traditionally before serving us.

The tea snacks and tim sum....
The amateur serving tea.

A group of us lazing around in the afternoon, sipping tea (yes, the cup is so tiny that you have to sip and not drink from it!)
Hmmmmm...... nice!

Kotobuki Japanese Restaurant
After sipping tea in the afternoon, we went to meet another friend at Kotobuki Japanese Restaurant for dinner.
We had a tatami room all to ourselves :)
Though it is small but quite cosy!

We waited very long for the food....
and thought they've forgotten our orders! but it didn't really bother us cause we were busy chatting away!

Super big bowl with a small portion of ramen.... that's my order :(
We had 20% discount as we ordered our food between 5.30 - 7pm.
Nonetheless, it was a treat from my friend because she had a promotion.

Cafe Vic at Carlton Hotel

I went for a buffet lunch with the children at Cafe Vic in Carlton Hotel. The restaurant was not crowded and yet we were given a seat in a corner near the clearing area.
I'm not very happy about it, but the children were already happily seated so I just left it as it is........

The buffet spread has very few varieties and the children were a little disappointed. I basically took lots of salad, some sushi & salmon sashimi.
In addition, I also took some shell fish that tasted awful (not fresh)! and roasted lamb but with no mint sauce to go with it.
Luckily, we at least did enjoyed eating the cakes & pasteries! =.="

Well, when the children saw me eating the oysters,
they decided to give it a shot and try it. With plenty of condiments and lemon juices, they ate it.......

and this is the expression I got after they put the oyster in their mouth!
READY!

And ???????
Hmmm.......... Sean is trying to gag it down his throat,

and Darien spew the whole thingy out!

Trishh is laughing her heart out! Hehehe.......
At about 2.00pm, a waitress came to tell us that the buffet is closing soon. Then minutes later, another waitress came and asked if I'm paying by cash or card. As I was on the phone, I answered her briefly that I will pay by card but it just puzzled me cause I did not asked for the bill!
I hesitated for a while, then the waitress asked me for my card again.
Suddenly getting the hint that she is chasing us off, I told her bluntly that I will foot the bill at the cashier myself when the children have finished their drinks....... then she asked if she can clear the table. (What is this men!)
I'm very disappointed and frustrated with the service the restaurant has provided. In any case, I managed to hold on to my cool and without making a fuss, I let it go cause I do not want to spoil my day out with the children.
Anyway, this would be my first and last time there.
